To assist travelers and administrators when making business travel arrangements, RIT has established relationships with three travel companies. With corporate travel, we largely give attention to companies that guide travel for their workers for their meetings and business travel. I find out what their travel need is—air, resort, vehicles, limos, automobile service, domestic prepare and observe, Euro rail—and guide whatever the purchasers need.\n\nLaughs At one point, we used to have a neighborhood travel agency that individuals go to, and so they sit down and discuss. Now, with the internet, every little thing is on the market to the purchasers at their fingertips, whether it’s 1 a.m. or 6 a.m.—they’ll go on their laptop and research or guide anything at anytime.\n\nBalboa is a 24-hour operation: We’ve our regular business hours, but our after-hours agents are there to assist in case of emergencies. That makes us accessible to both our domestic purchasers and purchasers overseas. Commock: The nice thing with having a travel agent is our data.\n\nMost of us have been in this trade for a very long time, so we know a number of the ins and outs of travel. With our reservation system, we are able to access the lowest fares and we are able to see all the airlines. There’s been so many weather delays, and we’ve our purchasers calling us … they’re standing in line, their flight just obtained cancelled and we’ve been in a position to assist them immediately.\n\nThis is where our price comes in. Booking online, when there’s a difficulty they should make a cellphone call and hold. I have purchasers calling from the taxi: I will miss my flight, I don’t suppose I will make it! Commock: My hardest thing is overcoming the perception that purchasers can guide online and not recognizing the value of booking with a travel agency.
